If you have a website you should have a blog to go along with it. Having a blog is one of the best ways to draw in some extra high quality traffic to your website. Making a blog is easy even if you have no clue what you’re doing, or where to start.
Don’t believe me?
Well then try it for yourself.
Blogger.com is probably the easiest and quickest way to get a blog up and running. You can follow the process and have your own blog in a matter of minutes. I recommend using Blogger if you are new to blogs, and you’re looking for the basics when it comes to blogging.
WordPress.com is another site that offers free blogs. However in my opinion they are a bit more advanced and allow you to do a lot more then Blogger does. So if you have some computer skills, and are looking for something a bit more advanced then wordpress is probably what you’re looking for.
Now if you really want to get to advanced and you have some good computer skills you can host your own blog and change the theme like I did on this blog. You can do this by using WordPress.org. You can download the files you need and upload them to your hosting server. Once you upload everything you can then start messing around with the templates. I only recommend this option for those who are more advanced.
Ok so once you have your blog what’s next?
Well now you need to add some content to your blog. Always remember that content is key. Google and all the other search engines love fresh new content, and favor sites with a lot of it.
Ok so now you wrote your first blog post what do you do next?
After you post to your blog the next step is to ping your blog, and you can do this by visiting one of these two sites Pingoat or Pingomatic. When you ping your blog is notifies the blog search engines that you’ve just updated your blog.
Once you write a couple posts and start to submit your blog around you’ll notice some new targeted traffic starting to visit your site. So again if your not blogging then you should really think about it, because you have no idea what your missing out on.

When people first started using the internet everyone was amazed by e-mail. That’s how the world would communicate with people, and we still do till this day. After e-mail was a big hit along came audio for websites and that was huge. Now those two are quickly fading away and now video is replacing everything we do online.
Sites like YouTube are dominating the market, and sucking up on the traffic. You though can capitalize on this by putting up videos of your own for millions to see world wide. Video is becoming a very powerful tool to sell things online, so if you sell something then it’s a must to have videos out there.
Here are step-by-step directions to getting traffic from videos.
Step 1 – First you must go out and buy a cheap video camera for your computer. Just visit your local BestBuy and talk to a clerk to see what works best for your needs.
Step 2 – After you have your video camera all setup now its time to record a video. Take some time and prepare yourself. Think about what you’re going to say in your video before you actually make it. You might even want to read from note cards.
Step 3 – Once you’ve successfully made your video its time to upload it to the web for the world to see. You can do this simply buy visiting a site such as YouTube. First though you will need to make an account for free.
Step 4 – This step is not necessary, but I highly recommend you do it if you want your video to be seen by more people. Visit TubeMogul.com and make a free account, and upload your video here. TubeMogul.com will blast out your video to all of the popular video sites free of charge.
Now that you have you video up and on the web here are some extra tips to getting the most traffic out of your videos.
Tip #1 Make sure you mention your website in your video or have a link some place on the page where people can click it and go to your site.
Tip #2 Try to make a video that is fun and exciting to watch. People love funny and stupid videos. If you can hold their attention longer then you increase the chances of them visiting your website.

It really makes me laugh sometimes when I see people spending almost $2 a click in Google Adwords, when I know they could easily just rank their site for the keyword they are targeting. A lot of people don’t even give SEO (search engine optimization) a shot. However in my mind anything is worth a try at least once.
Today I want to talk to you about how you can SEO your site to the top for any of your keywords. It’s a very powerful way to save a ton of money, and get probably the best traffic for your website.
Now just a few weeks ago I joined a brand new business called My Internet Business, and I started to optimize my site for my major keywords, and after just a few weeks my site is already ranked on page 3 (it was page 6 but I just checked and Google moved it to page 3 now *smile*)
So how can you do this? Well one way I recommend is by writing articles, and linking back to your site. Just make sure the anchor text you use to link back to your site has your keyword in it.
Now if you hate submitting articles like I do here is a great place I recommend to submit your articles for you www.articlemarketer.com. Also if you want to save even more time pay someone to write your articles for you.
After you submit a few articles linking back to your site move on to submitting your site to directories. By doing this you’re building up more back links, and Google loves that.
Here is another cool little place I use to help me out with this process its called SubmitEdge www.submitedge.com . I usually buy their directory submission, and the Social Bookmarking.
That takes care of building up our back links, and we barely did any work! The next step is to do some on site optimization. So pick your major keywords you want to rank for, and have them high up on your site and in a H1 tag if you can. After that just place your keywords throughout your site a few times, and even put your keywords once in an ALT tag for an image that might be on your website.
If you follow the above steps you can increase your page rank in Google, and save yourself from spending all that money in Google Adwords.
