Creating Your Own Products For Profits
When I first started working online my main source of income was from affiliate marketing. Simply put I was promoting others people’s products, and making them money. Of course I got paid for every sale I generated, but I was the one doing all the hard work.
Finally after years of successfully selling others people’s products I figured why not create my own and sell it myself and have others help me sell it along the way? This is where the money is made in my opinion.
Sure it’s easy to promote someone else’s product as they give you just about everything, and you don’t have to worry about creating the product or shipping or support. What stinks though is your working hard for only half the price.
So far I’ve created 2 of my own sites that sell a service, and I’m currently promoting my 3rd product and have a 4th one coming out in the near future. The two sites I’ve created so far run smooth and constantly bring in a monthly income with doing little or no work.
Don’t get me wrong though I’ve had to bust my butt for a solid 3 – 5 months to get them up off the ground, but I rather bust my butt working to pay myself rather then to make someone else all the money.
So what types of products can you create for online profits?
I’d have to say easiest product to create would be an e-book. This is simply a virtual book people can download and read after they buy it from you. You don’t have to be some great writer to write an e-book, and it doesn’t need to be hundreds or thousands of pages long. My free e-book I wrote on how to successfully use safelists is only about 30 pages long. Even if you don’t know how to write your e-book but have a great topic or idea you can also find someone on Get A Freelancer to write your book for you.
The second easiest thing you can do is run some type of service. All it requires is a simple script. For example I wanted to run a safelist of my own so I purchased a safelist script for $250. I wanted to run an ad exchange of my own so I purchased an ad exchange script for $175. These are inexpensive ways to run a site that sells some type of service.
Finally you can do what I plan to do at some point (when I find some free time) is build a membership site. These are great because they bring in residual income month after month. Your membership site can be related to anything. Example if you are good at selling stuff on e-bay you can run a membership site teaching people how to sell stuff on e-bay. That’s just one of a million ideas for a membership site.
